Kate Kenney is a New York City based actress, aerialist, and puppeteer.

After earning her BFA from Rutgers University, Kate moved to NYC and dove into the indie and regional theater scenes. A Shakespeare aficionado, Kate has performed the Bard in 12 states, studied at Shakespeare’s Globe in London for a year, won the Broadwayworld.com award for best actress for her portrayal of Ophelia, and has played Juliet 3 times, including at Shakespeare and Company. Kate puppeteers for the City of New York at the Marionette Theater in Central Park, and has recently begun training to carve wooden puppets under Bernd Ogrodnik, the Master Puppeteer of the National Theater of Iceland. She is an aerial silk artist who choreographs and performs her own work.

An avid lover of the mountains, you can find her climbing all over the United States as well as reaching the highest summits in Africa (19,340 ft), Ecuador (20,549 ft), and Peru (20,817 ft).

Kate volunteers weekly at Sing Sing Correctional Facility and other New York State prisons, where she facilitates arts-based rehabilitative classes and performs plays with the incarcerated population. Kate is an Artistic Mental Health Practitioner and a Certified Trauma Support Specialist.
